BYU Continuing Education (CE) is proud to announce a partnership with BYU Aspen Grove, a family camp located toward the base of Provo Canyon. The partnership came as a result of Mike Roberts, Managing Director, BYU Alumni and External Relations, and Craig Freeze, BYU Aspen Grove Director, reaching out to BYU CE Dean, Richard Houseman.
"BYU Aspen Grove Family Camp is a place where families can reconnect, renew, and learn together as a family," said Lauren Nielsen, BYU Aspen Grove Marketing Manager. "We're really excited for the partnership with Continuing Education because it enriches the experience for guests while they're here. It adds a layer of intellectual and spiritual depth."
The partnership builds on BYU CE’s mission to inspire lifelong learning to benefit the world by expanding Aspen Grove’s access to CE’s rotating group of guest speakers, something that had been a pain point for the Aspen Grove team. "CE gives us a pipeline for voices who can speak about faith, family, personal growth, and BYU's broader strengths as well," Nielsen said.
The new guest speakers will be able to offer something different for Aspen Grove's many returning guests. The camp is known for being an annual tradition spanning generations for many Utah families, but this change will give them a new experience. Nielsen explained, "Family Camp is a tradition for plenty of families. A lot of our guests are very passionate about Aspen Grove because of their family history and the traditions that they hold here.”
In addition to guest lectures, BYU CE will be able to host weekly information booths at Aspen Grove to introduce attendees to CE’s various programs and opportunities, allowing families to learn more about its offerings. According to Paul Larsen, BYU CE Strategic Marketing Account Manager, Aspen Grove's purpose closely matches BYU Continuing Education's focus on empowering individuals and families through learning opportunities describing it as "a perfect goal match.”
Whether guests are interested in youth camps, online courses, conferences, or personal enrichment classes, CE hopes to help families recognize that learning can continue throughout every stage of life. As Larsen explained, "We want to let people know that learning doesn't have to stop when you get your degree. It doesn't have to stop when you graduate or enter the trades or what have you."
By connecting Aspen Grove with BYU Continuing Education resources, both organizations hope to create meaningful experiences that strengthen family relationships, encourage personal growth, and inspire lifelong learning. The partnership builds on the shared goal of helping individuals and families continue to learn, grow, and thrive long after their time in a traditional classroom has ended.
